As many of you know, we have recently moved to Germany. After months of getting settled, we took a day trip to Triberg, Germany. Lurking in Germany's black forest, Triberg is a small town of a beautiful waterfall and 1,000+ Cuckoo Clocks. It's hard to forget what time it is in this town!
We started our day with a very cold hike to see the waterfall. Unfortunately, we could only go halfway up because the ground was iced over. We tried to make it, but we ended up just ice skating back down. Next, we went down in the heart of the town where we were surprised with a parade to celebrate Fasching, which is the German's carnival season. Our daughter loved it! She couldn't look away and she wanted to follow the music.
After the parade, we started the Cuckoo Clock exploration. There were many shops, but one famous one is the "House of 1,000 Cuckoo Clocks". Our daughter was in awe and saying "cuckoo" as we walked through the store. We continued our exploring at the Cuckoo Clock museum where they had the world's largest Cuckoo Clock. We put a euro in to make it play/cuckoo, which our daughter loved. All-in-all this is a great town for a day trip. We really enjoyed ourselves.
