Trey Ratcliff is a photographer that moved from the states to New Zealand to pursue photography full time. He has a strong online presence in the photography community. You have probably seen some of his work on Chromecast if you have one. This summer, Trey decided to return to the states to do a photo walk tour. DC was one of his stops and my wife and I were able to attend. A little over a hundred people showed up to meet Trey and follow him around the DC National Mall to watch and learn how he takes photos. During the photo walk, we were given fun activities like modeling his photography bag "The Everyday Messenger by Peak Design" in a creative way and getting a good photo to submit online for a contest. Unfortunately, we didn't win any of the contests, but we had fun trying. One of my take aways from the walk is that Trey said he lowers the base exposure on his HDR shots when there is bright daylight.
